An accomplished entertainment industry expert, Bhavani is a producer, writer, leader, founder,  mentor, & storyteller who specializes in integrating distinctive elements of various cultures while at the same time fostering the narrative’s universal appeal. Bhavani’s unique 360-degree content experience encompasses television programming, production, storytelling, writing, development, mentorship & management. 

Bhavani founded South Asian Women in Entertainment(SAWIE) – aiming to amplify the voices of South Asian women in Hollywood to achieve greater representation, inclusion, and authenticity. SAWIE leverages the collective experiences, knowledge, and power of its board & members to empower & uplift each other and the next generation of talent through education, partnership, and mentorship. Since 2017, SAWIE has hosted over 60 fireside chats & workshops, providing opportunities for connection & education to both women & allies. She also co-founded South Asian in Entertainment and South Asians in Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror.

As the former co-chair of the PGA Mentorship, she created a new mentorship program, Scripted TV Basecamp – a 12-week program that takes PGA non-scripted producers through the scripted development process. 

A native of NYC, she graduated from St. John’s, where she served as the first female president of the Indian Cultural Association.
